Your telegram No. 69 [of 14th January: escapes from
Hong Kong].
one
We have seen two reports in "Daily Express" giving names of 38 naval ratings (see my telegram 78) and Lieut. Douglas Stuart Rethick, R.H.R., and Charles Skinner, merchant marine, the other giving 14 names including that of McDougall. Please telegraph full names and home towns of the 22 persons not covered by the former report.
2. If McDougall and Ross could give any news regarding civilians and colleagues in Hong Kong, it would be much appreciated by relatives.
